Olympus Compact Camera - Perfect For Those On The Go
Cameras have come a long way. Modern cameras are now designed to match our
busy lifestyles. Olympus has been around for decades and has been a leader in its field. Since 1936 when they
created the ZUIKO lens for photography and introduced to the world, the very first Olympus camera, they have been
successfully able to introduce new trend-setting products over the decades.
Nowadays, compact cameras are the way to go. They afford a
non-obstructive, light and handy alternative to cameras of the past. Olympus compact cameras are less than 5 and a
half ounces but don’t let their size fool you. They deliver the highest resolution picture output you can imagine.
They are the perfect carry-along for travelling and touring. They are so thin and light that you won’t mind
carrying them to capture your precious memories.
If you are looking for a compact camera that has super zoom features
and an HD movie mode, then the mju 9010 is a great option. Compared to other compact cameras of this nature, it is
pretty affordable. It features 10x optical zoom, an in-camera panorama mode, 2 GB of internal storage and a set of
“Magic filters”. This camera is compact, portable, affordable and easy to use.
My next pick is the mju 7010. This is a nice little camera that
incorporates a compact body with a 7x wideangle zoom. It’s a really slim and neat camera that’s difficult to
resist. The design is attractive, it handles well and the pictures are good.
One of my absolute favorites is the mju 5000. My one complaint is that
its beauty mode is a little sluggish. However, its other features such as an attractive design and styling, flush
mounted buttons, good lens quality and most importantly, its ease of use, more than makes up for that. While the
Olympus mju 5000 may not be cutting edge, it is very well made and a joy to use.
Now, if you are either accident prone or just live a rugged lifestyle
and would like a camera that can keep up with you, then the mju Tough 6000 is what you are looking for. It’s
shockproof, waterproof and freezeproof. You can’t beat that when you’re swimming, hiking or climbing the Himalayas.
With its 4x wideangle zoom, you can take it with you on your latest adventure. It’s rugged yet doesn’t resemble an
armored brick.
Now, for the mack daddy of them all – the Pen E-PL1. This beauty has
an impressive design, excellent image quality, perfect video recording features and it handles great. It has a
built in flash and is really affordable. I just wish that it didn’t look affordable. The problem I have with it is
that the buttons feel cheap. But let’s face it, the deal breaker is not what the buttons feel like but what it can
do and trust me, it does lots. Even though the controls are quite basic, they are actually very efficient as it has
four-way navigation buttons which are clear and simple and work well.
So, if you are in the market for a new compact digital camera, Olympus
has a lot to choose from. From cute and neat to rugged and efficient, the prices are hard to beat and so is the
quality.
